My name is Lena Powderly and I am a watercolour artist. I was born in Swan Hill, Victoria and my early memories of my love of/ and appreciation of art began when I was a young child. Art, drawing, painting was always my best subject in primary school. At High school, this was broadened when I focused on elected art subjects... painting, leatherwork, pottery, metalwork etc. The practical part of Art included working with oils on stretched canvas with brush and palette knife, Art history included all aspects of Renaissance to modern art and provided great information on the Masters over the centuries down to modern times. My time was spent in my earlier days drawing and painting.
I have over many years painted with oils, acrylics and now watercolour which I really have a love for. There have been many teachers over these years and attended various workshops whom I have learnt and drawn from allowing me to form my own style.
My passion and love of art became a main focus when I retired from the Public Service and am now able to devote the time to branch out and join some exhibitions. I also enjoy reading books and watching you tube on artists/ modern 'masters' providing interesting techniques and styles. I enjoy accepting selected commissions allowing me to have made numerous sales. |
