Thalassic by Jennifer Segrave

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Thalassic is an original oil painting by Jennifer Segrave which depicts an outstretched underwater female dancer. The dappled sunlight on the dancer's skin allows her body to glow as she moves seamlessly through the deep blue haze, a red material gliding elegantly behind her. Her contemporary dance pose also makes her appear statue-like. Jennifer has taken advantage of water’s unique properties of light, clarity, buoyancy, and reflectivity to create an artwork that is delightfully serene and contains an otherworldly aesthetic. This artwork was painted with high quality Art Spectrum Oil Paints on a stretched canvas. It is finished with two layers of Nuart Satin Picture Varnish for UV protection and longevity. It also contains a black oak floating frame.
